Infinite Crisis Spring Kings Tournament Rules

Game Play Rules

Welcome to the Infinite Crisis Spring Kings Tournament (the “Tournament”). These game play rules (“Game Play Rules”) set forth the rules of game play for the Tournament presented by Turbine, Inc. (“Sponsor”) and (“Administrator”).

  1. All Infinite Crisis general in-game rules apply, however these Game Play Rules are in addition to them. These Game Play Rules are also made part of the “Official Rules” attached as Exhibit “A” and are incorporated into these Game Play Rules by reference. Please read both the Official Rules and the Game Play Rules carefully before participating in the Tournament. These Game Play Rules contain important information about the rules and format of the Tournament.
  2. Map usage will be as outlined under Spring Kings Structure below.
  3. The default game type will be Draft Mode.
  4. If one of the teams in unable to launch a game in Draft Mode due to a player not owning enough champions, the game will be played in Blind Pick Mode instead of Draft Mode.
  5. Games must be 5v5. If a team(s) does not have five (5) players available on time (as defined in general rules), they will forfeit their match.
  6. Teams may only use players that they signed up with. Teams can resend a signup form to change their team up until one (1) hour before the tournament starts.
  7. The team with the higher (lower numbered) seed will be Blue (left) for the first game. In the case of a bo3 or bo5 match, teams will switch sides after every match. Teams that competed at PAX East in the IC PAX East Invitational will be seeded based on their results there, other teams will be randomly seeded below them.
  8. If a match is going to be broadcasted, a tournament admin will host the game and invite the teams. Once both teams are ready and a Tournament admin says it’s ok the match will be launched.
  9. If a match is not going to be broadcasted the Blue team Captain will host the game and invite the players from both teams and assign them to their correct teams. Once both teams are ready they can start the game.
  10. Drafts are done in the following order:
  • a. Blue bans 1 champion
  • b. Red bans 1 champion
  • c. Blue picks 1 champion
  • d. Red picks 2 champions

  3. If a pick is not made in time, the game lobby will close. The team that did not pick in-time will be warned and on subsequent violations forfeited. The game will be restarted and players must ban and pick exactly as they did previously up until the lobby closed.
  4. After the draft is done, teams will have 35 seconds to swap around which players are playing which champions before the game starts.
  5. Teams are to take a screenshot of the end scorecard screen and be ready to present it upon a match dispute if one occurs.

  1. Disputes / Arbitration. The parties each agree to finally settle all disputes only through arbitration; provided, however, the Sponsor shall be entitled to seek injunctive or equitable relief in the state and federal courts in Los Angeles County and any other court with jurisdiction over the parties. In arbitration, there is no judge or jury and review is limited. The arbitrator’s decision and award is final and binding, with limited exceptions, and judgment on the award may be entered in any court with jurisdiction. The parties agree that, except as set forth above, any claim, suit, action or proceeding arising out of or relating to this Tournament shall be resolved solely by binding arbitration before a sole arbitrator under the streamlined Arbitration Rules Procedures of JAMS Inc. (“JAMS”) or any successor to JAMS. In the event JAMS is unwilling or unable to set a hearing date within fourteen (14) days of the filing of a "Demand for Arbitration", then either party can elect to have the arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) or any other mutually agreeable arbitration administration service. If an in-person hearing is required, then it will take place in New York City, NY, Los Angeles, CA, (whichever is closest to participant’s residence); provided, however, if none of these locations are convenient for the hearing, the parties may mutually agree on an alternative location. The federal or state law that applies to these Official Rules will also apply during the arbitration. Disputes will be arbitrated only on an individual basis and will not be consolidated with any other proceedings that involve any claims or controversy of another party, including any class actions; provided, however, if for any reason any court or arbitrator holds that this restriction is unconscionable or unenforceable, then the agreement to arbitrate doesn’t apply and the dispute must be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in Los Angeles County, California. Sponsor agrees to pay the administrative and arbitrator's fees in order to conduct the arbitration (but specifically excluding any travel or other costs of participant to attend the arbitration hearing). Either party may, notwithstanding this provision, bring qualifying claims in small claims court. In no event shall any participant seek or be entitled to rescission, injunctive or other equitable relief or to enjoin or restrain the operation of this Tournament (or any website connected therewith), exploitation of any advertising or other materials issued in connection therewith, or exploitation of this Tournament (or any website or any content or other materials used or displayed on the website used in connection with the Tournament).

  2. Dates & Deadlines/Anticipated Number of Participants. Because of the unique nature and scope of the Tournament, Sponsor reserves the right, in addition to those other rights reserved herein, to modify any date(s) or deadline(s) set forth in these Official Rules or otherwise governing the Tournament. Sponsor cannot accurately predict the number of participants who will participate in the Tournament.

  3. Further Documentation. If Sponsor shall desire to secure additional assignments, certificates of engagement for the Submission or other documents as Sponsor may reasonably require in order to effectuate the purposes and intents of these Official Rules, then each participant agrees to sign the same upon Sponsor’s request therefor.

  4. Identification of Sponsor. This Tournament is sponsored by: Turbine, Inc., 117 Kendrick Street, Suite 100, Needham, MA 02494. Reference to third parties in connection with prizes and/or third party websites or services are for reference and identification purposes only and not intended to suggest endorsement, sponsorship or affiliation with Sponsor or the Tournament.

  5. Information Submitted. As a condition of entering the Tournament, each participant gives consent for Sponsor to obtain and deliver his or her name, address and other information to third parties for the purpose of administering this Tournament and to comply with applicable laws, regulations and rules. Any information participants provide to Sponsor may be used to communicate with participant in relation to this Tournament or on a Tournament Winner’s list.

  6. Miscellaneous. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Rules or the Prize Acceptance Documents will not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision of the Official Rules or the Prize Acceptance Documents is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, the other provisions will remain in effect and will be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules will not constitute a waiver of that provision. Participants agree to waive any rights to claim ambiguity of these Official Rules. Headings are solely for convenience of reference and will not be deemed to affect in any manner the meaning or intent of the documents or any provision hereof. In the event there is a discrepancy or inconsistency between disclosures or other statements contained in any Tournament-related materials and/or the terms and conditions of the Official Rules, the Official Rules shall prevail, govern and control.
