Re: Whats the point of regular powers except for punishing new players even more?

Enhanced Stolens are marginally better. Sure, they offer a bit more than the standard version, but not to the "rolling" of solo queue as you state.

The reason a premade more often than not beats a PUG has to do with teamwork and coordination, not a slightly better SP.

and on a side note, I wri 12 hrs shifts and dont get the time I wish I had to play...yet..every 3 weeks I could buy a new champ(( currently have all of em cept robin and harley)) 300 merit or daily win. X 7 days a week is 2100 ..X 3 weeks is 6300 merit..that a champ and a few mods fr 1 win a day or 3 weeks....

working as intended...and furthermore since everyone gets. generic version of every single stolen power I relly dont see th punishment..
    Yes..over NINE THOUSAND!!

    also..Consider Ham as an option.

How about we go the way and just give SP by account lvl unlocks like that other game you copied , LOL!!!

it's not like you losing money anyway since Stolen powers are bought with merits and not coins, so stop with the needlessly grind wall already.

What? the standard items are good, in LOL you have to wait to unlock the standard items. here you get them, and if you want slight advantages you have to play a toon you own to level 5 to get a slight boost, or just buy them out right with merit.

Its not like super strength only does half damage unless your got superman, or teleport causes 50% damage to your champ. They are very small perks to these items. Its not worth the huge rant honestly.

    To run with lol

Mr nubbin starts playing IC his powers will be slightly and only slightly weaker (standard versions) than mr lvl 50 with like every sp available

In lol Yeah the Sp's unlock But that level 30 has an insane benefit over the new guy just from talent power buffs etc.

Was going to post a similar thread, as trying to get people into this game seems harder by the day...but anyway, reading some of the posts here. How you guys not see the impact these "small" perks give in the overall scheme of things is troubling. Every single little bit makes a difference.

Someone has Ivy Healing Wave + Supergirl Invulnerability vs. someone with the same base abilities. In the end, the player without those "small" perks has to overcome about ~20 difference in attack damage. He likely wont win the trade just by virtue of the other players have the better enhanced stolen powers. The small differences get compounded, especially if someone has a custom amplifier page.

At this point no one really seems to notice because everyone has played for so long, but for a new player coming in, it's very apparent. There SHOULD be a pros and cons to picking a certain stolen power. There isn't. The devs should really start looking at putting some type of take with all the gives these stolen powers afford. E.g. Wonder Woman's throw goes twice as far, but does less damage.

.........The stolen power system is a great addition to the game: It gives nice merit boosts in the form of achievements. It encourages people to play different champions, increasing their knowledge of the game. It adds a level of customization to individual accounts.

Getting a champion to level 5 is a grind wall? Are you serious?
some people just want everything handed to them. they hate having to work for it. its why Ubisoft is able to make money with their time saver packs on the assassin creed games.

Re: Whats the point of regular powers except for punishing new players even more?

Using a 'modified Stolen power' where you could get a advantage, at the cost of a dis advantage could make a nice tweaker and make some stolen powers more useful to players. Especially since heights is guaranteed at least 5+ people with Flash's super speed and 3+ of them with Ivy's healing wave (unless they took the time to get Arcane GL's stolen instead).

But i have to dis'agree on doing the modified Stolen power gag. With the current system on Infinite crisis, you are literally given 5 free champions, on top of the champions available for the rotation of the current week. Achievements also make it quite easier to obtain a nice stock of merits and leveling up will let you pick out some Artifact Mods and Amplifiers to get you started.

We also have AI matching now so 'new players' can focus on sticking to that, till they have had sufficient 'practical experience' to feel they can hold their own in a real player match.

Plus considering how 'costly' alot of stolens and Champions were originally (8400 merits for a 'new' champion, and some stolens were in the 4k range before i believe), its not as hard as it is to obtain them at the current point.

Modified stolen powers would just plain incite everyone to go farm crazy on champions just to obtain all the different kind of stolen powers, because Champion A is better with Stolen X compared to Champion B is better with Stolen Y. Technically it already exists on that craze, but the idea would drive it over the ledge with absolute certainty.

Plus 'SOME' Stolen powers have already begun to show downsides on them, such as Green Arrow's Camera which can reveal stealth'd players and cameras, at the cost of 1 camera less in the deployable stock for the user of that stolen power.

    XXXXXXX

Not to mention, Mods and Enhanced stolen powers can give a edge, but that is if you were to compare it to two champions using the same artifacts, but different mod kits.

-A different champion can easily show a massive difference. If your playing a Batman and your opponent thinks they are 'better' with Attack bonus mods then your credits off ones, then it would be pretty easy to shut them up (less they build tank) with the short time burst strength Batman can dish out with his skills. Especially if you manage to get your higher tier artifacts before them because it was cheaper for you to build. Even when its not modded, a final tier artifact is usually the turning point to give a champion it's real edge.

-Even if they got a better shield or healing wave, it matters not as much if you just disengage at the right time, hide and re initiate, giving you a mini-ambush advantage. Savvy game play will over take stat superiority in most cases, unless the difference is extremely different, which the artifacts should not give that much of a critical difference. Especially if your going against enemy champions who make use of 'aim shot attacks', giving you the 'chance' to dodge poke attempts or if your really lucky, make them waste using their ultimate, giving you ample room to use your own ultimate to turn the tables.
